John Key told lies every time he faced cameras, he must have been reasonably good at lying as many people believed him. Luxon just spouts his learned lines (lies). He is not believable but his supporters don’t care
The parties to the left sugar coat their policies thinking they will please everyone but end up being seen as not hard right.
To do what is best for the majority, we need to dismantle the arguments of the super wealthy and focus on ensuring the people who do all the necessary work in our society get to live good lives
You thought Luxon wanted what’s best for Nz Jesse? What do you think now? Their lies (“govt finances are like a household budget”) are foul. They ran like thieves from RBNZ documents at Fieldays, that show they are sabotaging our economy.
Why? Do they can buy the dip? Or get a job on a board? It’s gross.
Frank absolutely nailed it, Jesse. Good to see Mihi and Martin Bradbury are still asking the tough questions, but unfortunately it appears you’re not the only one treading a bit lightly around right wing politics, as Petra and Paddy Gower are towing the same boat of late. What I don’t understand is the strategy here, is it to kill em with kindness and hope they come around (to a more progressive way of thinking) or have you been warned about government doing a Trump and coming after the media? What’s the real story here? It’s apparent this government sadly care very little about New Zealanders futures and our flora and fauna. I had a local Council job during the Key government working on community projects and we were warned not to express any political opinions in our personal social media feeds (talk about anything but politics and religion, right? 🤣). My fear is we’re getting to the stage where journalists are similarly not allowed to have an opinion and instead expected to be magazine style PR mouthpieces 🤔
"Could I observe, Mary, perhaps on behalf of listeners who are keener on the National Party than the Labour Party, they might like to make the point that the National Party made these changes because they traditionally spend less in government. They're looking for ways to spend less. And maybe in the 2025 changes, they were forced to spend less because of mismanagement of the government before them."
No question you were playing Devil's Advocate and Mary would have known that too.
I missed the session but am going to go back and listen to her response to your comment.
(Sorry, I had to go look at the link you supplied).

And take donations and lobbying out of politics with clear rules and huge fines for contravention.
Luxons making ‘Freudian slips’ about corruption (?!)

2. Point 6. Using QE is cool for corrupt corporates. But not strategic investment (?!)

Hmm Frank's post now seems to have vanished, I saw it 10 mins ago, now can't get back to it - only to your comments on it.
This sort of thing boils my blood lol
