They missed an opportunity with that chart. If it was meant to be a wine ring stain it would be red. It looks like someone used the default chart software in Excel or something. What we have here is a failure to communicate (effectively).
Love that it's not only another "Canadian turned New Zealander", but another academic/former academic that's turning up in the comments with graph opinions! A niche audience segment for you, Jesse?
FYI, this statistician WILL data viz for wine. And would only make a donut chart if graphically pun-y (love the wine stain 🤣)
I would love to be able to say I have a phd in Communications on “The Semiotics of Wine Stains”, but that would be untrue. However, I do know someone who did a PhD on Seam Pucker.
If you went to (say) Ronan Keating at The Mission in 2014, how many people wouldn't have been drinking wine? Agree the tempo of the act has an influence though!
Most interesting! As a senior, I have noticed my friends either don’t drink because they are driving or have a fizzy drink. At a meal, a beer, wine or bottled water seems the norm, but only one or two. I wonder what the situation is at home for other people? I have a box of beer that has remained three quarters full since the last barbecue, months ago!
Cheers Tony. Someone in the industry tells me craft zero replaced $6.5m of full strength craft sales in 2023. Not just your friends! Need any help with that box?

The percentage of zero alcohol drinks (Garage Projects Tiny amongst other) and water, would be interesting. I have heard Tiny is their biggest seller.
What is "Byron Bay"?
/EDIT I guess it's this? https://byronbaybrewery.co.nz/our-drinks/cocktail-range/
Yeah looks like a competitor to the big boys huh
So looking at their range, that's another win for RTDs?
Who drinks wine at a festival?

I’m sorry Jesse, as a millennial wine professional I couldn’t help but clap back…

This is 100% true for the near 18 year old in this house!
Do they have any plans to move out? 😂
